GARY Higdon netted a ‘perfect hat-trick’ as Melksham Town claimed their fifth consecutive win on Monday night with victory over Shepton Mallet.
Higdon scored with his right foot, left foot and head respectively, with Josh Robinson also on target, and boss Adam Young admits his side’s recent good form has them looking to climb to the First Division table.
“Since the win over Merthyr, expectations have risen and we want to see where we are in Ferbruary,” said Young.
“If we could go on to finish in the top three or four then that would be great.
“Gary did well on Monday and he had good support from the other players up top.”
On Saturday, Melksham were knocked out of the Wiltshire Senior Cup as they were beaten 4-1 by Wessex League Downton.
