CORSHAM made up ground on Southern Counties South leaders Salisbury – who were held to a draw by Oldfield – with a comfortable away win.
The visitors started with the elements at their backs and it didn’t take long for centre Chris Bull to carve open the home side’s defence off a well planned move for an early try.
Bull scored again following good work and, with Corsham’s forwards making life difficult for their counterparts, veteran lock Mick Mealing was on the end of a terrific drive to score Corsham’s third.
Mike Patterson capped another standout performance with a try under the posts from another planned move, and with Andy Williamson converting thre times Corsham were in complete control at the break, leading 26-0. With a bonus point already secure, Corsham showed glimpses of real class in the second half and Bull soon got his hat-trick.
Bridport had some success in the second half and scored two tries from close range, both converted.
But Corsham wing Tom Cunningham scored his first try for the first team, Williamson wrapping it up with a try and conversion.
