Swindon Town’s out-on-loan striker Tomi Adeloye has undergone surgery on an injury that will see his season end prematurely.

The 28-year-old has spent the season on loan in the Scottish Championship with Partick Thistle, finding the back of the net eight times in 21 appearances, he has had the best goals per 90-minutes played ratio in the division this season.

However, Adeloye will not be able to add to that tally because he has suffered an injury for which he required surgery and that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

He took to social media, to say: “Never pictured my season ending like this but gotta trust in God. Grateful for a successful procedure and everyone who stood by me along the way. I’ll be back stronger for yous.”

The striker joined Swindon in July 2022, penning a two-year deal at the County Ground, but through a combination of injuries and difficult form, was only able to make 13 appearances in League Two last season, scoring one goal.

He then headed to Partick Thistle on a season-long loan before the beginning of the current campaign, with his contract with Swindon expiring at the end of this season.
