Cricket: Biddestone 3rd travelled to Bradford Town 2nd and claimed a hard-fought 4 wicket win.

Bradford were asked to bat first on a damp wicket and were put under pressure by a tight start from James Taylor and Chris Casey, just 21 coming from the first 12 overs.

However, it was the change bowlers who made the breakthrough, Adrian Cooksey (17) bowled by Paul Walden and Ben McElhinney had Graham Long (23) caught behind.

Tony Laws made a fluent 50 for Bradford, but wickets continued to fall at the other end, including two for Tom Merriman.

Bradford's innings closed on 145 for 9, Walden finishing with 3-44. In reply, Biddestone also struggled in the conditions, and lost Walden early, caught off the bowling of Gareth Moorhouse.

Last weeks double centurion Casey looked set to continue his fine form, hitting 3 sixes, before unluckily being adjudged lbw on 39, off the bowling of Laws.

Once Casey had been dismissed, Laws (4-33) cleaned up the middle order, as opener John McElhinney continued to battle on. McElhinney was finally dismissed for 46 in the 39th over, leaving Biddestone on 116-5 and the game finely poised.

However, Biddestone captain Kevin Mitchell took the game away from Bradford with 21 not out from 13 balls, hitting the winning run off the first ball of the last over.
