His side may have the small matter of a semi-final second leg against Reading Racers to attend to, but Robins boss Alun Rossiter is already plotting a revenge mission against Coventry Bees in the Knockout Cup final.

Swindon take a massive 18-point lead into tonight's clash at Smallmead Stadium, with Coventry awaiting the winners following their 97-86 aggregate victory over Arena Essex in the other semi.

After watching his side dismantled by the Bees in the Elite League final earlier this month, Rossiter is desperate to set the record straight and bring some silverware back to Blunsdon.

He said: "It would be nice to get through to another final and get a second crack at Coventry. Then it's pay-back time.

"We were so lacklustre in the Elite League final second leg and it was very disappointing for everyone.

"We feel we owe Coventry one and it will be up to the riders to prove they can beat the best."

With Coventry and Swindon both through to the final of the Craven Shield there will plenty of time to renew old rivalries in the days and weeks to come.

But with Reading next on the Robins' hitlist, Rossiter has warned his riders to focus on the task ahead.

The previous meeting between the sides was abandoned when a multi-bike smash in heat 11 saw Robins skipper Leigh Adams taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder.

Andrew Moore and Reading's Travis McGowan were also injured in the crash, but Rossiter believes Swindon should still have been awarded the win.

He said: "To be honest, I still think they could have awarded it to us because we had a big, big lead before the crash took place.

"I don't think any of my riders will be thinking about that this time though.

"It's a track that we like and I am confident that we have a big enough lead to get into the final.

"I would be very, very disappointed if we didn't make it."

Rossiter has also appealed to Robins fans to flock to Smallmead in their droves as Swindon look to book another date with Coventry.

He said: "I would like to think we would take a few over there with us, but with such a big lead I'm not sure what the crowd is going to be.

"We always appreciate their support and it would be nice to give them another final to cheer about."

Racers boss Malcolm Holloway has booked Poole's Edward Kennett as the guest replacement for Matej Zagar.

Meanwhile, Janusz Kolodziej will miss the meeting as he is having pre-arranged surgery on an arm injury in Poland, with Reading will operate rider replacement in his absence.
