I was upset to hear the news about Devizes Town striker Joe O'Chuko's injury on Tuesday.

Suffering a dislocated ankle, broken tibia and ligament damage is a horrendous injury. I know Joe and used to play five a side football with him on a Monday night in Chippenham.

I've followed him since he was at Biddestone. He has got good pace and an eye for goal. He was a player I was monitoring and I wanted to see how well he would do this year.

There are still three or four Western League players I am looking at who are doing quite well.

It is not just a big blow for Joe but also for Devizes.

We've got our own strikers coming back from injury. Luke Hopper could make the squad this Saturday and Luke Gullick has been impressive in his two substitute outings. That is why I brought him to the club and I expect him to develop further.

We have got Beacon-sfield in the FA Cup on Saturday and we don't want a repeat of the defeat against Slimbridge last season. We want a good cup run because the supporters love it.

The run to the first round when Darren and I were in charge, when we played Sutton, Newport, Basingstoke and Worces-ter, got the whole town going.

Since Tommy Saunders took the club to Wembley we have always been a bit of a cup side. The crowd like to see it and hopefully we can go as far as we can.

I've had Beaconsfield watched and they are a very dangerous side. They are a little bit in the Slimbridge mould.

They have some players playing a couple of leagues below their level who could go higher so we have to be aware.

It is a one-off game and we have to make sure we don't slip up on this potential banana skin.

We avoided one in the league on Saturday with our draw with Corby.

They came with a game plan and in the last 20 minutes their bench was shouting that they were happy to take a point.

They wanted to nullify our attacking threat but we are able to score from every angle now, so they couldn't stop Kes. We might not have a 20 goal a season striker but we have a lot of options.

The way Corby played was a testament to these boys. It shows teams are respecting them.

People could say it is two points dropped but they came from behind to get something out of the game, which is pleasing.

I also have to thank Frank Harvey, the linesman who stepped in on Saturday. I thought he did an excellent job. If I see him in the bar after a game I am going to buy him a drink.
