Adver Sport reporter Matt Edwards gives out his player ratings from Swindon Town’s 3-0 win at home to Rochdale this evening.

Lawrence Vigouroux: 8

Marking his 50th start for Swindon Town, he didn’t have a shot on target in the first half to contend with. A fine save to keep out his second penalty in as many games.

Darnell Furlong: 8

Took his goal with aplomb when it was presented to him and was part of a defence that looked very solid. Booked.

Conor Thomas: 8

Another very good performance in the heart of defence and his ball to set up Town’s second goal was superb.

Nathan Thompson: 8

Dealt with the aerial threat of Rochdale well early on. Was not afraid to get physical and it was much of the same in the second half, with his performance capped off with a poacher's goal.

James Brophy: 6

Asked to play a more defensive role, he didn’t have much of a threat down the left and his new role led to him not being as potent going forward.

Anton Rodgers: 7

At the heart of the Town midfield, he was another line of defence to protect the back four but his passing was hit and mis, his best being his free-kick for the third goal.

Tom Smith: 6

Started the game brightly with some nice flicks as he tried to get things going in the first half but faded in the second as he took up a more defensive role.

John Goddard: 6

Not as influential in the game as he would have liked. Worked hard but a lot of the play went down the right rather than on the left side that he was patrolling.

Sean Murray: 9*

His energy in midfield was superb and was the catalyst for much of Town’s good work going forward. Looks a real prospect, especially with his set-pieces.

Ellis Iandolo: 7

All the enthusiasm you can come to expect from a youngster looking to impress. Was keen to drive forward with the ball and make things happen.

Nathan Delfouneso: 8

Will be relieved to have finally got the monkey off his back after taking the first-half chance presented to him calmly. That goal gave him a big boost and it showed in his energy for the rest of his game.

Subs:

Bradley Barry (on for Murray 67’): 6

Not required to do much defensively in his cameo at left-back, with most of the play down the right. Good to get some more minutes.

Jake Evans (on for Iandolo 81’): 5

A short run-out for the youngster when the game was dead and buried.

Luke Norris (on for Goddard 67’): 6

Came on and was full of running to put pressure on the Rochdale back-line, but had few opportunities to add to the scoreline.
