FORMER Arsenal defender Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill has indicated that he has signed for Swindon Town on social media site Facebook.

However, Town are yet to comment on reports, which emerged last night, that the 19-year-old has become their first signing of the summer.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

Attacking left-back Ormonde-Ottewill was released by the FA Cup winners yesterday, with reports in London, from website Arsenal Youth, indicating that he had agreed a deal to come to the County Ground.

Ormonde-Ottewill, who has featured for both England's Under 19 and Under 16 teams, made a total of 34 appearances for the Gunners' Under 21 side, 13 of them coming last season when injury restricted his participation, although he also scored two goals.

The young defender also made 12 Under 19 appearances and played 34 times for the Under 18s, scoring twice, and was invited to train with Arsenal's senior squad by Arsene Wenger.

Ormonde-Ottewill had an injury-plagued campaign last season and only returned to action in February after being out for four months with an ankle injury.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

If his arrival is confirmed, he would be the first through the 'in' door at the County Ground following the break-up of Mark Cooper's League One play-off finalists.

Midfielders Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin signed for Queen's Park Rangers, while goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and striker Andy Williams were among a raft of high-profile departures on Town's released list.
