MAN of the match Wes Foderingham admits that Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Bradford City will go down as one of the best of this current era.

Just 12 months ago, both the keeper and boss Mark Cooper admitted that Town may have crumbled under the pressure that they came under at Valley Parade.

But following a debut double from Jon Obika and a number of saves from Foderingham that the Swindon manager described as ‘world class’, Town made the long journey home with three points in the bag and a return to the top six.

“It is the best away win we have had for a while,” Foderingham said after the game. “I can’t remember one better than this off the top of my head.

“It was a difficult task, they (Bradford) made it really difficult for us, but we stood up to the task and done well and finished our chances.

“I think that is hard to say (if we could have done this last year), if you pushed me for an answer I’d say no.

“It is a difficult place to come and with a lot of young boys in the team, you can fold under the pressure, today it is a testament to the boys and they stood up to it well and were brave.”

Foderingham, who had saved a third minute penalty from Alan Sheehan, says that he had been working on his penalties in training with goalkeeping coach Steve Hale.

And as well as producing several superb saves - including an injury time stop to deny Bantams skipper Stephen Darby, the young keeper was quick off his line at valley Parade.

“The gaffer asked me to come out a little more today and try and help the back three, because they have got (James) Hanson and he has scored quite a few goals with his head.

“I did that OK today, when they ball came in I was on my front foot trying to help the back three out.

“It was a great header (from Darby), I’m not sure how he has got that angle on it, the loop on the ball gave me a bit more time to tip around the post.”
