EVERYTHING remains the same in Division One of the Chippenham Sunday League as all four of the intended fixtures were lost to waterlogged pitches.

Chippenham Sports & Social Club left it as late as possible before postponing their home match against North Bradley at the Recreation Ground, Sutton Benger, which is the first time for many seasons that a game has been lost to the elements at the village ground.

With Hullavington's home pitch being under water they switched their match to the Police headquarters' Devizes and the game against Chippenham Police had been billed as a relegation four pointer between two of the division's struggling sides. But it was wiped out after heavy overnight rain left the host's pitch waterlogged.

While other sides around them had suffered from cancellations, Christian Malford managed to play on in sometimes what were adverse conditions. However, the weather finally got the better of Malford's pitch at Seagry and for the first time this winter they were forced to postpone a game with North Star A being the unlucky opponents.

When Potterne met Atworth United back in October they won 3-0 and they were hoping to seal a league double over their opponents which would have taken them back to the summit with leaders Semington Rovers due to be in cup action.

But not the first time in recent weeks the elements came to Rovers' help and hindered Potterne's attempt to reclaim top spot, however they won't have to wait long before they get the chance to move above Rovers as the teams are due to met this coming Sunday.

DIVISION TWO

IT'S as you were in Division Two as everything was wiped out for a second time this year.

British Lion OC's match at home with The Horse & Groom and the Ship FC's clash with bottom of the table White Horse FC were removed from the fixture to allow the Lion and the Ship to play their cup games but due to waterlogged pitches they were unable to do so FC Bradford had to abort the visit from AFC Calne as did Rowde who were due to entertain Sutton Benger and Southwick Sports who were hoping to welcome Biddestone Arms as they look to kick a ball for the first time for over two months. All three games were lost to rain which rendered their pitches unplayable.

The Crown Devizes were unable to raise a team to travel to Pig & Whistle United. With most of their team invited to a christening it meant that they didn't have enough players left to fulfil their fixture.
