CORSHAM got back to winning ways last weekend with a crushing seven-wicket victory over Weston-super-Mare.

Pete Dennett’s side, who had won four on the trot before losing at Downend and seeing their game against Ashcott & Shapwick rained off on July 19, swept aside Weston at Station Road, dismissing their opponents for just 107 before cruising to 109-3 in just over 20 overs.

In the Premier Two division, Potterne kept the heat on second-placed Clevedon by thrashing bottom-of-the-table Glastonbury, with Josh De Souza (3-14), Jake Roberts (3-17) and Dylan Higgins (3-20) all filling their boots as the Somerset hosts were all out for a lowly 93, midway through the 29th over.

Neil Clark’s Potterne then eased to 96-2 in less than 19 overs.

Meanwhile, Ed Kilbee’s unbeaten 82 helped Goatacre beat Chard by four wickets, with Jack Haines also chipping in with 61 as Brad Dawson’s men reached 237-6 in 46 overs, chasing down the home side’s 233-6.

Dwaine Perry starred as Biddestone pulled off a shock in the Glos/Wilts Division by beating league leaders Lechlade.

Perry hit 99 for the home side as they posted 238-4 before the Biddestone man took 5-26 to down Lechlade, with the title favourites coming up four runs short as they were skittled for 234 in the final over.

Chippenham maintained the gap between them and the Glos/Wilts relegation zone by beating Tewkesbury by eleven runs and leapfrogging their opponents into seventh in the table.

Paul Bates’ 55 helped the home side post 228-9 before four wickets from George Reed and three from Denson Narayan saw the visitors dismissed for 217 in the penultimate over.

Burbage & Easton Royal carved out a 16 point lead in the Wiltshire Division with a six-wicket victory over title rivals Marshfield.

Marshfield’s James Williams hit 48 but Burbage’s Darran Freegard took a hefty 6-41 to dismiss the hosts for 205 with a single over to spare.

Michael Papps then smacked 91 to guide Tom Wallbridge’s league leaders to 206-4 midway through the 45th over.

Fourth-placed Marlborough beat Winsley by eleven runs whilst bottom-of-the table Devizes finally brought their nine-match losing run to an end with victory over Trowbridge.

Mark Banham took 4-18 as Devizes skittled their visitors for just 65 in 32 overs, before skipper Joe Wookey hit an unbeaten 37 to guide his team to 68-2 in just over 21 overs.

There was disappointment for Great Bedwyn as they slipped to a seven-wicket loss at struggling Nationwide House whilst an unbeaten knock of 96 from Tom Richards wasn’t enough to prevent Calne going down by 85 runs against Purton.
