ROGER Charlton has earmarked the Chester Cup as a possible target for Clowance Estate after his narrow defeat in the Queen's Prize at Kempton on Saturday.
The five-year-old Teofilo gelding was passed deep inside the final furlong by Seaside Sizzler in the once prestigious two-mile handicap.
As that was only the ninth run of his life there is a distinct possibility there is plenty more to come from Clowance Estate.
The in-form Charlton hopes that will be the case at Chester next month.
The Beckhampton handler told www.rogercharlton.com: "Clowance Estate so nearly won the Queen's Prize, just losing out by a neck to Seaside Sizzler giving him 10lb.
"He may now be aimed at the Chester Cup on May 7."
