SWINDON Town manager Mark Cooper thinks MK Dons boss Karl Robinson might opt to rough up his side this weekend when the two teams meet at the County Ground.

Robinson suggested in his pre-match interviews yesterday that he was planning to make a tactical change to his Dons team to face Town and, when asked by the Advertiser what he thought his opposite number meant, Cooper replied: “I would think he’s going to put two massive strikers up front and whack it forward, if he’s going to make a tactical change. He’s got the boy on loan from Bolton, (Sanmi) Odelusi, he’s got Alan Smith, (Izale) McLeod so he might try to rough us up which some people might say is the best way to beat us.

“We’re going to play. We’re going to try to get the ball and play and if we have to fight, we’ll fight. We will give it everything we’ve got, that’s for sure. If it’s good enough, great, if it’s not we’ll go home knowing we’ve given everything.”

While Robinson branded the game a “cup final”, Cooper was less dramatic with his appraisal of the task at hand, saying: “We’re just looking to win the game. Karl’s been there for three years and created a style of play which, when it’s right, is very entertaining to watch. They’ve struggled with injuries this year and that’s really knocked them back.

“I think every game now is a must-win. We’re just focusing on getting three points, trying to put a bit of pressure on Peterborough.”
