Chippenham Town manage Mark Collier on this afternoon's 0-0 draw with Corby: "Conditions were difficult – not just under foot but with the swirling wind as well.

"I thought that we just lacked a bit of spark in the first half. We said to them at half-time that we needed to play with a little more oomph and aggression in our play, which I thought we did.

"Overall, we've got a disappointed dressing room because we thought we should have won the game. We haven't scored the clear chances we made but we've been nice and compact, tight and organised, and 0-0 is just about the right result.

"Defensively, we haven't been fantastic recently and we've worked on getting people in the right positions and the right areas so that teams don't break on us. We we wary that they were very good on the counter and they'd own their last three away games by playing in that manner.

"Ben John's only had one good save to make and we've created a good chance for (Luke) Hopper but he says that he's just had a little bobble in the goalmouth – strikers always say that though, don't they?

"He gets hold of the ball well and he brings some competition to the strikers. Lee Phillips wasn't fit today so he got his chance.

"Jon Beeden and Jake Simpson missed out today, and Iain Harvey's still injured, so we've got good competition for places in the squad.

"We play Bashley on Tuesday and we're aware of what teams at the bottom of the league can do, as we found out at Totton – they can sometimes play with freedom.

"They haven't played at home for a long time because of their pitch but if the game's on, we know that we need to go there with a professional manner."

4:49pm

And that's that - it ends goalless at Hardenhuish Park after the two sides play out a total stalemate.

There were still plenty of positives from a Chippenham point of view, with Aaron Oakley particularly impressing and coming agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock on a number of occasions.

Still, it's three unbeaten for the Bluebirds. Next Tuesday evening, they make the trip to the New Forest to take on bottom-of-the-table Bashley, who lost 4-1 at Stourbridge this afternoon

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CORBY TOWN 0

4:44pm

Griffin and McClennan play a superb one-two and the latter's cross is headed away by Aman Verma.

The ball finds its way to Pete Monks but he skews his strike wide from the edge of the area

4:42pm

We're into added time at Chippenham now

4:41pm

Griffin is booked for a late slide on Corby's Jelleyman

4:40pm

McClennan picks up the ball and sweeps the ball out to Dean but his toe-poke is gathered easily by Carpenter

4:37pm

Oakley really fancies a goal today and the tall defender comes close again. From McClennan's corner the Swindon Town man rises highest but his header angles inches wide of the mark.

Can the Bluebirds nick this one?

4:35pm

A loose ball gifts possession to Corby and Tindle launches himself into a challenge, wiping out Harry May.

The visitors are incensed and it could easily have been a red but the defender is shown a yellow card by referee Ricketts

4:33pm

Collier rolls the dice again and Lee Phillips comes on for Corey King with around nine minutes left to go

4:33pm

Collier rolls the dice again and Lee Phillips comes on for Corey King with around nine minutes left to go

4:32pm

The Bluebirds' King clips in a corner and Oakley meets it at the near post but can only turn the ball high and wide of the target

4:30pm

But we're back into that scrappiness again, with both sides regularly being caught offside and final balls not finding their intended targets.

There's around 12 minutes left to play at Hardenhuish Park and it's still 0-0

4:24pm

McClennan goes on an excellent run and clips a cross towards the back post where Oakley is waiting but his header flies narrowly over the crossbar

4:22pm

Corby's Wright gets a header away from Mills' cross but that effort is comfortable for John to gather

4:19pm

The Bluebirds are having the lion's share of possession at presnet but they still can't find away through that impervious pink wall

4:18pm

Guthrie swings in a cross with his weaker right foot but Griffin has the ball tipped off his head by goalie Carpenter

4:14pm

And Chippenham make their first change. Luke Hopper's debut comes to an end as winger Joe McClennan takes his place

4:12pm

And the Bluebirds man very nearly gives Chippenham the lead! Griffin slots the ball through the legs of Corby's Malone, sending Rob Dean bursting into the box.

The midfielder cuts the ball back but Hopper just can't get the final touch from a brilliant position

4:10pm

Well Hopper has had a few invovlements so far during his first start since returning to Chippenham, mostly to set up his strike partner Alan Griffin.

4:09pm

4:06pm

As an aside though, the harsh weather looks to have died down - the sun is even making a guest appearance!

4:05pm

It's still all a little bit scrappy. That final ball or an awkward bounce always seems to curtail the momentum of any promising attacking moves.

We're still goalless early in the second half

3:58pm

Almost right from the off, Hopper sends Griffin racing clear. The striker drives to the byline and goes to pull the ball back but hits a cross clear across the face of goal

3:56pm

The two teams are back out for the second period

3:47pm

So it's goalless at half-time at Hardenhuish Park. It's been far from a classic so far, with two sides largely cancelling each other out.

Greg Tindle and Aaron Oakley have been impressive for the Bluebirds but their opposite numbers, Paul Malone and Chris Carruthers, have been having an equally good game.

It's still anyone's match but Chippenham could do with a spark from somewhere. Stay with Bluebirds Live for the second half action

3:44pm

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CORBY TOWN 0

3:39pm

Corby hit the post but the offside flags saves Chippenham. A superb scooped delivery from Nathan Rooney is headed on by Tommy Wright and his effort trickles against the woodwork but the linesman's flag is raised

3:37pm

There's a shout for handball from the crowd as Griffin's flick over his head smacks against a Corby defender in the box but referee Adam Ricketts isn't convinced and waves away the claims

3:32pm

But how quickly things can change - everything has gone a bit flat and the two goalkeepers are having to do their best to stay warm.

Both sides are currently cancelling each other out and it's become a little scrappy

3:24pm

This game has really shot into life now. A slip from Pete Monks led to a dangerous situation for the hosts but Greg Mills hand-balled Thomas' cross in the area and the threat passed

3:21pm

But up the other end, Sam Ives has a shot turned around the post by Ben John

3:20pm

SO CLOSE to an opening goal for the Bluebirds. Guthrie floats a cross in at the second attempt and the ball flies to the far post where it's volleyed by defender Aaron Oakley.

Keeper Carpenter is grounded as the effort smacks against the underside of the crossbar and bounces to safety

3:18pm

The rain has arrived and the wind has already begun to play havoc wiht proceedings - Corby's Nathan Rooney is setting himself to take a free-kick but the ball just won't stay put!

3:13pm

James Guthrie embarks on a super run, holding off the attentions of three defenders before digging out a shot that's held by visiting keeper Josh Carpenter

3:12pm

Hopper battles for the ball in the area and sets up Griffin, who hits a ferocious shot, but it smacks against a Corby defender

3:09pm

It's not been a slow start here at Hardenhuish Park but there hasn't been much in the way of goalmouth action.

Corby look a physical side and they've put a few dangerous-looking crosses into the area but they've been dealt with by the Chippenham back line thus far

3:03pm

King latches on to a long clearance from Greg Tindle and drives forward before setting up Hopper to strike goalwards, with the striker's effort not far wide of the target

3:00pm

A few early half-chances for Chippenham, with Alan Griffin unable to get a header on target and Luke Hopper blasting over with a snapshot

2:57pm

Chippenham kick us off, going from right to left

2:55pm

The two teams are on their way out at Chippenham. The Bluebirds are in their usual all-blue whilst Corby are wearing pink and white

2:53pm

Former Bristol City manager Brian Tinnion is in the stands scouting this afternoon. Perhaps casting his eye over some of the local talent at Chippenham or even taking a look at on-loan Aaron Oakley?

2:48pm

Just under ten minutes til kick-off at Hardenhuish Park. Stick with Bluebirds Live for all of the action as it happens!

2:48pm

So Collier has kept faith with the likes of Corey King and Callum Wright, with Hopper coming in for Lee Phillips up top.

There was some impressive stuff on show from Chippenham when they beat St Neots 2-1 in their last outing, so it will be interesting to see if the hosts have built up some momentum.

Today's opponents Corby were beaten 1-0 by Frome last weekend

2:45pm

CORBY TOWN: Josh Carpenter, Kalern Thomas, Gareth Jelleyman (c), Paul Malone, Chris Carruthers, Sam Ives, Greg Mills, Nathan Rooney, Tommy Wright, Aman Verma, Stuart Hendrie.

2:42pm

Unfortunately, we're still ironing out a few kinks - hope to be back to regular updates very soon!

2:31pm

Right, so let's get down to business.

There's no official team sheet yet but the main news for Chippenham is that Mark Collier hands a start to new signing Luke Hopper

The striker's international clearance has gone through this week and the former Swindon Supermarine and Hungerford Town man is thrown straight into the fray

2:30pm

Apologies, but a few technical issues mean that it's a late start for Bluebirds Live this afternoon.

Chippenham Town take on mid-table Corby Town this afternoon, looking to notch up a third straight league victory at home and as always, we'll be bringing you live updates of all of the action as it happens.
