PEWSEY Vale manager Lewis Taylor plans to regularly remind his players of their superb performance against Andover Town after they thrashed the Sydenhams League Division One league leaders last weekend.

In-form Pewsey ran out 4-1 winners at Ball Road, notching up their fourth victory in five games.

Boss Taylor reckons that his side gave a glimpse of their full potential and reckons that Vale have sent out a message to the rest of their league opponents.

“I think that the rest of the league will be looking at that result and thinking ‘oh, Pewsey are back’,” said Taylor.

“This group that we’ve got always seem to be able to raise their performance when they’re playing teams from above them in the league.

“It was the same when we played Brockenhurst and Team Solent at home last year.

“It was an absolutely brilliant performance and the guys need to realise that they’ve set the benchmark now.

“They know what they’re capable of and it’ll all about making sure that we maintain that momentum now – if we can do that, then you never know how well we could do this season.”

Pewsey are currently fifth in the Division One table, just four points behind leaders Andover with a game in hand.
