LONG-SERVING Calne Town man Glenn Armstrong is celebrating a landmark week after he netted his 200th goal for the Lilywhites.

The 30-year-old striker, from Swindon, took his Calne tally to 200 goals with the first of his double against Keynsham Town on Tuesday night.

“I’ve been at Calne since I was 18 or 19 and I’ve always kept a bit of a tally of how many I’ve scored,” said Armstrong.

“I got to 100 goals about six years ago and getting 200 is obviously great.

“I felt like I’d been playing really badly in the last few games and it did feel like a little bit of a weight on your shoulders but I’m pleased to get past the mark now.

“The most important thing was that we won 6-1 away from home on Tuesday.

“We’ve been doing well and we’ve only lost one of the last eight games in the league.

“I played with Simon (Gardner, manager) at Calne and I think that he’s definitely a good appointment.”

Calne currently sit eighth in the Toolstation League First Division.
