CHIPPENHAM Town slipped to their fourth league defeat as Nick Beasant's late goal decided their Calor League Southern Premier Division clash at Cambridge City this afternoon.

The Bluebirds, who had claimed a superb 1-0 win at Stourbridge in midweek, were undone when Beasant struck decisively on 84 minutes.

Adam Marriott had given the home side the lead on nine minutes, but James Guthrie restored parity for the Bluebirds, still being led by caretaker boss Steve Winter, just before half time wth the equaliser.

The Wiltshire men looked set for another well-earned away point until Beasant nick the points.

Town are next in action in the FA Cup first qualifying round at Yate Town next Saturday (3pm).
