Corsham were spared the task of a daunting run chase in their Premier One clash with leaders Bath as the weather forced an abandonment.

Robin D’Souza’s side had put their opponents in to bat first at Station Road after winning the toss but saw Bath’s Tim Rouse hit 78 Sam Mount (45), Luke Padgett (43) and Will Jenkins (42) took Bath to 323-8, Hasitha Da Silva with three wickets for the home side Ashur Morrison and Joe King taking two apiece.

The match was abandoned in the second over of Corsham’s reply.

In Premier Two, Goatacre were chasing down Weston-super-Mare’s score of 245 when the elements intervened.

Weston’s John Williams hit a hefty 135 but Goatacre skipper Brad Dawson and Jif Wilkins took two wickets each. Hampshire man Liam Dawson was unbeaten on 34 as Goatacre’s reply stood at 104-4 before the premature end.

Glos/Wilts Division, title-chasers Biddestone were denied an 11th victory of the season.

Joshua Bolton (3-19) and Naeem Khan (3-17) helped Niel Bredenkamp’s side dismiss Westbury for just 94, but after just five overs, the run chase was abandoned.

Third-placed Potterne were also on course for a dominant victory at home to Dumbleton, Luke De Souza’s knock of 114 putting them in control, with Sahan Wijerathne adding 84.

Potterne declared on 296-4 after 43 overs but Dumble-ton’s reply lasted one over.

Chippenham had Stroud all out for for 166 in 46 overs, but were also denied.

In the Wiltshire Division, Calne lost out on a thumping victory at Winsley.

Dan Knight’s side batted first after winning the toss, both Sean Adams (121) and skipper Knight (112*) hitting centuries in an impressive 321-6 before being left frustrated.

Sourish Mukherjee hit a century (101) for title hopefuls Burbage & Easton Royal at Nationwide House, Daniel Wootton (48) and David Cope (30) helping to post 237-5.

Nationwide were 48-1 at the abandonment.

Great Bedwyn’s Rob Palmer had an unbeaten knock of 113 at Marlborough, the hosts’ Alex Cox taking three wickets in reply as Bedwyn posted 209-9.

Marlborough were 67-1 when a halt was called.

Marshfield posted 173-8 at home to Devizes, Rupert Crockett making 28 and Padraig Shipp posting 23, but Devizes didn’t get to the crease.
