MARLBOROUGH & District Junior Athletics club (MADJA) finished third in their final Wessex League match of the season.

The U11 QuadKids emerged with honours, just beaten into second place behind Isle of Wight.

In the main competition, the U13 girls finished second in their age group.

Jess Lamb ended the season on a high, winning the long jump (3.94m) and the high jump (1.36m) in personal bests and combining with Catriona Edington, Emma Sykes and Rebecca Stephens for second in the 4x100m relay.

Bethany Palfrey won the shot (6.92m) and was second in the discus (15.45m). Amy Davidson was second in the javelin (19.54m).

MADJA came third in both the U15 boys and the U17 men.

In the U15s, Callum Short was first in the 300m (40.3s) and the 800m (2:13.30), while brother Kieran was second in the discus (20.51m).

MADJA claimed firsts in all three U17s throwing disciplines – Jack Osbourn in the shot (9.18m) and discus (24.98m) and Owen Lauder in the javelin (32.42m).

Imogen Davies was second in the U15 girls’ discus (20.19m) and Ashlen Sowerby second in the U15 girls’ 75m hurdles (13.5s).

In the QuadKids competition, Oliver Rhoads and Thomas Holmes claimed first and second respectively for the second match running, in a field of more than 40.

Rhoads ran a superb 600m in 1:47.20, while Holmes threw a massive 42.42m in the Vortex. Poppy Davies finished fifth for the girls.
