BOX duo Sue Cooke and Alex Jacobs will be bidding to win two county titles at the Bowls Wiltshire Ladies finals day at Salisbury on Saturday.

Cooke and Jacobs, pairs champions for the last two years and in 2003, will be seeking to make it a hat-trick against Chippenham Town’s Jan Boden and Barbara Shepheard who eliminated Alderbury’s Margaret Webber and Maureen Woolley, the 2010 champions in the semi-finals.

Cooke and Jacobs, who have previously notched a national indoors pair title and represented England, will also bid for two titles they have previously won.

Cooke faces Spencer Moulton’s Debbie Shadwell, making her singles debut, in the four wood singles final, while Jacobs meets Box teammate Sue Dix in the two wood singles final.

The ladies U25 singles final is an all-Wootton Bassett affair between teenagers Lucy Smith, a previous winner in 2011, and Charlotte Daniell.

Amesbury feature in the other two finals, Stratton Churchway in the triples and Purton in the fours.

All finalists will represent Wiltshire in the ladies national championships at Royal Leamington Spa tat the end of the month.
