BIDDESTONE’S flawless start to the season continued last weekend as they claimed a two-wicket victory over county rivals Westbury.
Westbury won the toss and batted first, with Lydon Gibbons hitting 73 and opener Jared McDonald making 43.
But Biddestone’s Niel Bredenkamp kept the score down as he took five wickets, with the visitors posting 233-9.
Westbury’s Andy Carroll put pressure on the home batsmen with four wickets but Bredenkamp continued to star, hitting 88 for his side.
Liam Boulton chipped in with 49 as Biddestone reached 234-8 in the 46th over, notching up their fifth straight victory.
Meanwhile, second-placed Potterne claimed a 50-run victory at Dumbleton.
Luke De Souza (46), Sahan Wijerathne (36) and Dylan Higgins (29) made progress for Potterne, who were put in to bat after losing the toss and declared on 180-9.
Higgins (3-26), Jake Roberts (3-23), Ollie Smith (2-16) and Wijerathne (2-14) then went to work, skittling Dumbleton for 130 in the 46th over.
