WILTSHIRE continued their disappointing form in the MCCA Trophy group matches when they lost by 94 runs to Suffolk on Sunday at Devizes.

Suffolk won the toss and scored 208-8 in their 50 overs, Tom Rash scoring 53 not out.

Wiltshire were better in the field, with only two no balls and nine wides conceded and two wickets each for Ashur Morrison and Michael Coles.

But the home side were soon in trouble in their innings as they struggled to deal with the extreme pace of Tymal Mills (3-37).

They were all out in 42 overs for 114, Tom Alsop with 22 and Henry Langford 36.

Team boss Neil Shardlow said: “We bowled and fielded pretty well and were feeling pretty happy at the break but we fell apart after that.

“I was surprised because I thought our batting was our strongest point this season.’’

Wiltshire’s final match is against unbeaten group leaders Shropshire at Oswestry on Sunday.

With Alsop, Tom Bowler and Mukesh Bhatt unavailable, Potterne’s Neil Clark comes in, with debuts for Goatacre’s Giorgio Rigali and Corsham 16-year-old Tom Foley.

Foley is the third member of his family to play for Wiltshire, following grandfather Brian and father Richard.
