Work by volunteers of the Royal Wootton Bassett branch of the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust has been recognised with an award.
The branch has received the Tony Davy Award for the greatest annual increase in volunteer hours.
Local people who regularly walk the towpath are impressed by the progress that is ongoing to restore and maintain the canal, which is a valuable asset to the local environment.
Jenny Stratton, who chairs the branch, said: “So much work goes on behind the scenes and the input by so many volunteers is vital.”
