Bangladeshi Caterers Association president Enam Chowdhury met the Prime Minister at a celebration of the Muslim festival of Eid.
The 50-year-old, from Royal Wootton Bassett – who is also the vice-president of the Friends of Bangladesh – was invited to 10 Downing Street, where he met David Cameron.
He said: “I found out 10 days beforehand that I was invited to go and I think I was chosen randomly, but it was a really big honour and I was not expecting it at all.
“It was a lovely event; 10 Downing Street looks quite small from the outside, but inside it is a mansion.
“There was some lovely food put on and we also had a chance to pray in that place, which was a great honour.
“He did spend a minute talking to me. He asked who I was and where I was from and I told him I was from Royal Wootton Bassett.
“He said he knew Royal Wootton Bassett and had been very impressed and moved with what they had all done during the repatriations.”
