THREE men who are accused of a string of offences across Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett are to face trial by judge and jury.

Jimmy Lowe, Sean Berry and Carl Brown all pleaded not guilty to breaking into Oakleys Spar Shop in Chiseldon, when they appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

The trio are said to have taken a cash till, alcohol and a lottery scratch card display during the alleged raid on Sunday, March 20.

Brown, 36, denied driving that car but admitted handling a set of number plates stolen from another Mercedes.

He also pleaded guilt to break in at Murco and also burgling the Premier Foods store in Swindon, again stealing cigarettes, on the same day.

Berry, of Naunton Road, Park North, Swindon, pleaded not guilty to two counts of burglary but admitted one of aggravated taking without consent by being carried

Brown, formerly of George Gay Gardens, Park South, Swindon, pleaded not guilty to one burglary and aggravated taking without consent. He admitted two burglaries and one of handling stolen goods.
