A FAMILY of four have all become Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do after a gruelling assessment in Bristol.

The Smith family moved to Pewsey in 2012 and took up the Korean martial art to keep fit together. Children Nathan, 14 and Natalie, 12 started Tae Kwon Do lessons with mum Beverly and a year later father James got involved.

The Pewsey Vale School pupils have spent the last five years in training and are part of the first family to become black belts together for their club.

Mr Smith described the achievement as a milestone for the family, and said: “I work in London and most nights don’t get back til 8pm so it’s a nice thing to do with my family as my children are growing up.

“We felt that it was something good for the children do to for their confidence.”

Peter and Joseph Osmond and Erin McKay also achieved their first Degree Black Belts as students at Pewsey-Marlborough Tae Kwon-Do school and Michael Condon achieved his 3rd Degree Black Belt.
