A GAME of blindfolded football had students from Pewsey Vale School giggling, testing their teamwork and showing off their competitive side all to raise money for Children in Need.

Wearing eye masks they had to rely on a member of their team to give them instructions to get the ball and score goals.

There were a few tumbles but lots of laughs as the students got into the spirit to raise money for the national appeal.

The game was organised by deputy headteacher Kirsty Protheroe who oversaw the teams of six as they queued in their lunch break to take part.

Students also took on the teachers, with the teachers winning thanks to a goal by assistant headteacher Mark Surowiec.

“It was surprisingly difficult,” he said. “I think it was more through luck than through skill I score the goal. It was all about communication and just really fun with positive vibes amongst the students.”

There were also tables full of cakes and sweet treats baked by students and parents that proved so popular they were nearly all sold out by lunchtime. In charge of selling the cakes were Year 11 reps Paige, Jacques and Matthew.

The students were also all dressed in non-school uniform and donned Pudsey ears for the occasion.

Mr Surowiec added: “The students always come in with good spirits for Children in Need and other charity events, they have been fantastic.”
