A man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning (April 7), following a pursuit in the Ludgershall and Collingbourne Ducis area.

At approximately 4.15am on Saturday, the driver of a silver Ford Mondeo was seen acting suspiciously in the Ludgershall area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driving continued at a high speed.

Police pursued the vehicle, with the driver travelling along the A342 towards Ludgershall, along the High Street and approaching the war memorial at the junction with Andover Road. He turned onto Andover Road, travelling towards Andover and overtook a number of vehicles at high speed on the wrong side of the road.

A short time later the vehicle came to a stop, and a 21-year-old from Dorset was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, drink driving, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a class A drug, and failing to stop.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Jonathan Brunt, said: "We would like to appeal for any drivers who were driving along Andover Road in Ludgershall at this time, who may have been overtaken by a silver Ford Mondeo to contact police to help assist our investigation. Any information you have, no matter how small, could really help our investigation."
