A COUPLE were tricked into handing over £125 cash to a con man who told them he could buy cheap cigarettes in a fraud being investigated by police.
The man, who is now being hunted by police, persuaded the couple that he had a discount code and could buy cheap cigarettes from a wholesalers.
He gave them fake contact details before leaving the Bear Hotel in Marlborough, where the incident took place.
The couple later realised his contact details were fake.
The incident took place on September 25 at around 2pm.
A spokesman for Wiltshire police said: "The man is described as white, aged in his early 50s with tattoos. He had receding dark hair which was long at the back and was wearing a black top with a logo, trousers and grey trainers.
"We'd like to speak to the man pictured in connection with this incident."
