A young member of Marlborough’s acting school has won a lead filming role in a short film filmed in London.

Director Nicole Westpfel spotted Dylan at an audition and picked him to play the central character in her sort film titled Vanilla Sunday. The storyline is under wraps and the film has been tipped to be featured in several film festival.

Nine year old Dylan Lowe, from Hungerford, has attended the Stagecoach school run in Marlborough and Newbury since he was just six and has his sights set on more acting roles in the future.

Speaking of his role, which included six days of filming nine hours a day, Dylan said: “I’ve definitely caught the acting bug and with Stagecoach’s help, who knows what I’ll end up starring in next.”

Mum Faye Lowe said: “The filming days were full on but he loved it. He was in most of the scenes which is quite abnormal for a nine year old boy to be so involved.

“In one of the scenes they were filming on a train with other members of the public around them, so it was a very unique experience.”

The performing arts school runs from St John’s School in Grantham Hill, Marlborough for children aged from four to 18.
