A MARLBOROUGH study centre that has gone through several different homes in its 16-year history may have found a permanent base after the town's rugby club invited them to use their facility.

For the last 16 years, the Kumon Marlborough Study Centre, which offers pupils in the Marlborough area extra tuition in Maths and English, has been held at The Wesley Hall, The Marlborough Leisure Centre and the Marlborough Scout Hall, without really settling in.

That could be a thing of the past after the Marlborough Rugby Club offered the study centre, which has around 45 pupils studying there between the age of four and 15, to use their club, in the Common, on Mondays and Wednesdays after school for a third of the price it was paying at the leisure centre.

And this new era will get underway when the study centre holds its first session at the club from June.

"We were really delighted that the club invited us to use their facility as they want for the community to use it more which is very kind of them," said instructor April

"Hopefully this will be a permanent home for us. It is a great space for us to do what we do. It is bright, has a lot of space and good parking too. We can maybe look at getting another assistant to help or maybe go to three days a week, it is very exciting."

Kumon is the largest supplementary education provider in the UK with over 70,000 Kumon students around the country.
