NEARLY £7,000 has been raised by private client lawyers at the Marlborough and Swindon offices of Royds Withy King in aid of Prospect Hospice.

A total of £6,625 was raised through the annual 'Make a Will Month' campaign in November after the company decided to make and update people's wills in exchange for a charitable donation to the hospice, which has a shop in Marlborough High Street.

"We were delighted to play our part in this campaign and help raise £6,500 in donations for such a fantastic charity and we would like to thank our clients for giving so generously," said Mandy Casavant, an associate in the private client team at Royds Withy King in Marlborough.

"The one uniting factor in all the people I met during ‘Make a Will Month’ was that they had all been touched in some way by the work of Prospect Hospice.

"Prospect plays such a positive and valuable role in our community. People have been inspired to help in any way they can to support the hospice’s work."

The firm have raised tens of thousands of pounds for the hospice, which has been providing end of life care for 300,000 people in the county since 1980, for the last 18 months.

On top of this, the law firm donated IT equipment worth £100,000 to social enterprise, We Do. IT, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain the skills and practical experiences they need to secure work placements, further training and employment this month.
