A WILTSHIRE photographer has been presented with one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, having been nominated for the accolade numerous times.

Pete Davies picked up the Fresh Group National Portrait Photographer of the Year Award, beating more than 1,000 other entries, at an annual awards ceremony in London.

The winning photo by Mr Davies was of Libby Simpson from Cirencester, who is pictured lying in a field surrounded by daisies.

“I am incredibly proud to have won the award,” said Mr Davies, who runs a traditional bricks and mortar independent studio in Marlborough.

“I love photography and never do it to gain recognition in the form of awards, however it is very humbling to have won.

“There are so many great photographers in the world, so to be recognised as one of those is truly special.

“I have been a photographer for many years, and have learnt so many things over the years that have got me to where I am today.

“I am going to continue my work, and hope that people continue to enjoy my creations going forward.”
