WAITROSE is once again supporting the Marlborough LitFest by donating buns so book lovers can have a sweet pit stop in between seeing the host of authors.

The LitFest Café will be open throughout the festival this weekend at the Town Hall, offering tea, coffee and homemade cakes as well as the Marlborough Buns.

The White Horse Bookshop will also run a bookstall next to the café for browsing and buying books written by visiting LitFest authors.

As part of its Best of British range, Waitrose has researched heritage regional recipes to bring retro sticky buns back to the afternoon tea table and the Waitrose Marlborough Bun is a traditional blend of fruit and dough baked into rustic mounds.

Tim Pike, department manager of Waitrose in Marlborough, said: “Waitrose Marlborough is delighted to be supporting the annual literature festival and we wish all involved another successful event this year.”

Kay Newman of the Marlborough LitFest, added: “We are thrilled that once again Waitrose Marlborough is supporting our festival and the Marlborough Buns are fast becoming an annual favourite in the café.”

Tickets are still available for some events in the 2015 programme which features over 25 events, covering fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children’s authors. Authors include Alexander McCall Smith, Helen Dunmore, Salley Vickers, Jasper Fforde and Andrew O’Hagan as well as the annual popular Big Town Read, this year with Rachel Joyce.

Tickets and programmes are available from The White Horse Bookshop, Marlborough High Street, or Pound Arts: (01249) 701628 / 712618 (www.poundarts.org.uk/). For further information, visit www.marlboroughlitfest.org
