A green-fingered couple from Lockeridge, who opened their colourful and extensive garden and wild flower meadow last month to raise funds for Prospect Hospice, have handed over a cheque to the charity.

Brian and Janet Rayment opened their garden to visitors last month in exchange for a donation to the hospice and raised a total of £953.

Mr Rayment said: “We had fantastic support from the local community on the day, and lots of cakes were donated for the event, so a big thank you to everyone who supported our event, especially to everyone who was kind enough to bake.”

Mike Kennedy, the charity’s Marlborough community and events fundraiser, added: “We are very grateful to Brian and Janet for opening their garden again to raise funds for us, and to everyone who came along to support their event.

“We would also be pleased to hear from anyone in the Marlborough and surrounding areas who would be interested in taking part in our Open Gardens programme 2016.”
