The Swindon and Marlborough offices of law firm Withy King have raised £20,347.11 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance – their chosen charity for the last two years.

The sum was raised through a variety of fund-raising activities initiated by the staff inside and outside of working hours, including a ‘summer of sport’ which saw individuals and teams taking part in a number of running and cycling events as well as the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge.

Every two years, Withy King’s employees vote for their charity of choice in each of the firm’s three principal locations - Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Bath.

The total amount raised across the firm amounted to almost £50k. The firm’s other charities of choice were Headway Oxfordshire and the Royal United Hospital in Bath’s Forever Friends Appeal.

Chris Kane, a partner at Withy King and Chair of the firm’s charities’ committee, said: “We are committed to making a positive impact on the communities we work in.

"The staff in our Swindon and Marlborough offices nominated Wiltshire Air Ambulance as their ‘charity of choice’ and we are delighted with what individuals and teams have managed to achieve over the last two years.

"I am immensely proud of the initiative they have shown in coming up with novel fund-raising ideas as well as the effort they have put into the activities themselves.”

Rebecca de la Bedoyere, fundraising manager at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We are so thrilled by the amazing fundraising efforts of everyone at Withy King.

"They have worked incredibly hard; climbing mountains, baking cakes, even organising a fantastic ball, and what’s more they’ve been an absolute pleasure to work with.

"Their commitment and drive is evident in the phenomenal amount raised, and every penny is going to help us save lives across Wiltshire.

"It costs us £6,850 per day to run the service, and we are so grateful to all the individuals and businesses across the county who support us.”

Over the next two years, Withy King will be supporting three new charities: Prospect Hospice in Swindon, Yellow Submarine in Oxford and Dorothy House Hospice in Bradford on Avon.
