Staffand children at Manton Pre-school are jumping for joy after being rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

The Ofsted inspector visited the pre-school in Preshute Lane during the final week of term before Christmas.

The report, which was published on January 15, states: “Staff work closely with parents to ensure the children's move into the preschool is a pleasant experience.”

The pre-school is run by a staff and parent management committee made up of people from the community.

Chairman Vanessa Crofton said: “We are really pleased to have been able to take our little pre-school through this major event in its history.

“Having a level of ‘good’ enables the pre-school to offer funded places for qualifying two-year-olds and gives reassurance to our parents that we are working to a good standard and the quality of our care can make the community proud.”

The pre-school’s last Ofsted inspection was carried out in December 2009 when it was also given a ‘good’ rating.

Supervisor Lesley Carter said: “We have all worked really hard to ensure that we exceed and continue to work to all the regulatory requirements and we are proud of what we have achieved.”
