The announcement that Savernake Hospital will have a Prospect Hospice facility by spring next year has delighted people in Marlborough and Pewsey.
Mayor of Marlborough Marian Hannaford Dobson said: “It’s absolutely fantastic.
“Having access to good end of life care is so important so for Marlborough to get a facility like this is marvellous.
“When you’re going through treatment it’s important to have a strong support network behind you and this will allow enable this closer to home.”
The Prospect Hospice Shops in Marlborough, Pewsey and Hungerford are gearing up for an influx of donations and the Pewsey shop in Market Place is marking the appeal with a new display window.
Manager Julie Henry said: “It’s going to generate a lot of interest around Prospect Hospice and I don’t think we’re going to have a problem reaching the target.”
