Waitrose in Marlborough is running a campaign to tackle isolation at Christmas after the success of last year’s project.

The store is looking for people who organise, or are thinking of organising, Christmas lunch events for people who might otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day to apply for support from the retailer before October 18.

Waitrose community manager Tina Varns believes the scheme is important because the store is at the centre of the Marlborough community.

She said: “We know how important this time of year is to so many people and it is important everyone has the opportunity to enjoy that.

“We want to play our part in helping more people have a Merry Christmas this year.”
