Presenters of the BBC’s Antiques Road Trip rolled into town in their 70s Volkswagen Beetle on Monday to look for treasures at The Marlborough Parade Antiques Centre.
Anita Manning and James Lewis came to Marlborough last summer and they were so impressed by the quality of the centre that they returned for another episode.
The experts travel around the UK to look for items they can sell at auction, competing against each other to make the most money, and both found gems at the centre and its sister shop, Eric’s Attic, 50 yards down the road.
Gary Wilkinson, owner of the centre, said: “They’ve been here before so I knew they’d be asking to come back because we’ve got a quality shop and they said how lovely it was.
“You get a mixed reaction when they’re in, some people are camera shy like me and walk out, while others like to come in and watch.
“I’ve been on the show before and afterwards people took the mick, but I’m quite a character so I can take it – it’s all a bit of fun.”
