PUPILS from Malmesbury School were given a taste of the world of marketing and design at the Wood McKeever agency during their work experience month held at the start of the month.

The High Street-based business put seven of the Year 10 pupils through their paces during the week starting on April 3, where they learn how to develop a client brand and marketing plan which they then presented to attendees such as Mayor Wayne Jones and headmaster Tim Gilson.

"It was wonderful to see how much our students had gained from the week’s work experience," Mr Gilson said. "The final presentations were slick and professional. It was clear how much effort and thought had gone into ensuring they had a stimulating and challenging programme throughout the week.

"We are very grateful to WMC and all employers who invest so much time into supporting our students in their work experience."

The group were also given the opportunity to work closely with each department at WMC and two guest speakers, Denise O'Leary from Purpol Marketing and Stephen Kearney from Powerful Organic spoke about the importance of marketing with a new business.

Jemima Trussell, Marketing Communications Manager at WMC, said: “It was great for the class of 2017 to join us last week, all seven students were a fantastic addition to the team, working across different projects to see how our business works. They all took on board so much information throughout the week and watching them present back on Friday showed how much they had learned. We wish them all good luck and success in the future."
