Lucas Griffiths, of First Malmesbury Cub Scouts, has been presented with the Chief Scout’s Silver Award, the highest award that a Cub can gain.
It took Lucas, of Great Somerford, more than two-and-a-half years to earn the award, which he did by completing six challenge badges in creative, community, fitness, global, outdoor and promise activities.
Gaining a challenge badge involves completing more ambitious tasks within the pack and community than traditional activity badges.
The activities were completed at pack meetings and holidays, but also at Lucas’ home. Lucas has now moved on to the new Friday Scout troop in Malmesbury.
Malmesbury’s new Scout troop began in early September due to a high demand for places and has started with ten Scouts.
