DEVIZES Mayor Roger Giraud-Saunders will light a beacon next to the town's white horse tonight (21) to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.
The lighting ceremony will follow the reading of a personal letter from Prince Charles by Chris Callow, chairman of Roundway Parish Council at about 7.30pm.
The two councils have joined together to organise the event as part of a national celebration that will see beacons lit across the country between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
Devizes direct services manager Sarah Williams said: "Residents of Devizes and Roundway are invited to come and watch the beacon being lit by the White Horse on Roundway Hill.
"The best views are likely to be from the town below."
All Cannings will light its own beacon at Cliffords Hill at 8.30pm tonight. (21)
But Bromham is to wait until the Queen's official birthday on June 11 to light its gas beacon on top of the village church.
