THE DEVIZES office of Aster Group has donated a cheque to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Staff from the housing provider have donated money left over from their monthly staff prize draw.

Colleagues from the company’s offices in Horton Avenue, Devizes, made the short journey to the charity’s operations centre in London Road to present them with a cheque for £1,000.

Aster staff from all over the south west pay £1 per month into The 100 Club for the chance to win cash prizes of up to £250.

Jane Horsell, Aster Group insurance manager and PA to the group resources director, said: “When all the prizes have been handed out to the staff from the 100 Club draw each month, we always have some money left over.

“We had lots of great suggestions but Wiltshire Air Ambulance received the most nominations from our team in Devizes, while teams in our other offices made similar donations to their chosen charities.”

The donation was welcomed by WAA. Rebecca de la Bedoyere, senior fundraising manager at WAA, said: “We’re so grateful to the team at Aster for their generous support. We rely almost entirely on public donations to keep our lifesaving aircraft and crew flying, and this donation will help ensure we can be there for anyone who loves, works or travels in Wiltshire when they need us most.”
