BISHOP’S Cannings Primary School choir enjoyed a visit from Garsington Opera Company last Monday as they took part in a morning workshop on the theme of the opera Cosi fan Tutte by Mozart.
The workshop organised by the education arm of Operaluna, Operajunior, encouraged choir members aged six to 11 to combine dance and drama to create dramatic performances and bring the stage to life.
They also had to sing Italian songs and retell the story of the opera.
Teacher Eleri Hood: “The half day workshop was a really exciting opportunity for the 25 members of the school choir to be introduced to a different genre of music and to work with and be inspired by professional musicians.”
Operajunior teacher Jo Del Mar said: “The pupils worked with a top team of opera directors, composers and singers their eyes were opened to the joy of a trained voice, proficient pianist and stories from Mozart.”
