UP to 500 more people in Urchfont will have access to private and NHS dental care now the village surgery has been given permission to extend.
After being refused last year Urchfont Dental Practice has got the go ahead for plans to expand the surgery and will be offering places for new private adult and NHS child patients.
The original application last November was refused by Wiltshire Council because of insufficient parking and a lack of turning space.
But now owner Gwynnifer Henning is delighted after being granted the permission to build a new surgery, reception and office along with external works to improve the parking at the High Street surgery
Dr Henning, who took over the surgery in February last year, said: “We're very excited to be able to expand on our site and hope to start the work in June.
“There has been a practice in Urchfont for over 30 years and currently we have a 100 person waiting list and long waiting times for an appointment.
“The new surgery space will allow us to treat more people from the village and in the new plans parking will go from five spaces to eight.”
