WADWORTH brewery in Devizes has received a coveted High Sheriff of Wiltshire Award this month in recognition of the company’s services to the community.
Wadworth has been supporting the Wiltshire Community Foundation for many years and was presented with the award in Devizes Town Hall earlier this month by High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Peter Addington.
The Community Foundation is a charity that provides money and support countywide and in the last year awarded grants of £800,000, helping more than 37,000 people.
Chairman and director of Wadworth Brewery, Charles Bartholemew, said: “The High Sheriff and Wiltshire Community Foundation do a fantastic job and we are extremely proud to offer our continued support to them.
"Fundraising has become very much embedded within our company culture at Wadworth, whether it’s ensuring we have Salvation Army clothing banks in our pub car parks, or supporting brewery and pub staff in their local and national fundraising efforts. Even Monty, our magnificent shire horse, got involved in Movember this year.’’
Mr Addington said: “Wadworth seem to have the spirit of community in their DNA, particularly here in Devizes with all of the pubs and tenants playing their part to raise money. It is this long-standing dedication that merits Wadworth the High Sheriff's award.’’
