Women's boutique Wardrobe in Devizes sold out of charity poppy scarves in just half an hour last Wednesday, after customers saw that 100 per cent of the money would be going to the poppy appeal.

Owner Taylor-Jane Hancock has raised over £200 for the Royal British Legion when she decided to stock the scarves after seeing them on one of her suppliers’ websites.

“I thought it would be a good idea to stock them and donate 100 per cent of the sale to the poppy appeal,” she said.

“Within 30 minutes of posting them on the shop’s Facebook page I was in undated with calls and messages to reserve them and had completed sold them all within that time.”

The 26-year-old has said she would stock the poppy scarves again next year and is looking into doing other charity products in the future.
