A MULTI-SENSORY theatre production targeted towards young disabled people in Corsham will go ahead after a housing developer pledged money towards its creation.

Frozen Light were given the go ahead to perform Home at the Pound Arts centre after Cotswold Homes, who are building more than 60 homes at Corsham Rise at Potley Lane, offered to fund tickets for the show for dozens of teenagers with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Sophie Moysey, The Pound Arts deputy director, said: "Cotswold Homes’ support is very welcome as local schools with PMLD teenagers have very limited budgets for outside trips. They would not be able to access professional performances without support like this.

"Multi-sensory theatre is interactive and created to meet the special needs of the audience while producing a piece of high quality entertaining theatre. Each part of the show has a sensory element so that individual audience members can explore sound, taste, smell and touch, taking the time they need to do so."

The developer is also contributing towards the performance fee charged by the troupe in order to actively engage with the community around them and encourage new buyers to take a look at Corsham Rise.

"A show entitled Home seems to be highly appropriate for us to support," Cotswold Homes' head of sales and marketing Terri Hayes-Pugh said. "Since we announced plans for our development of three-bedroom semi-detached homes and four-bedroom detached properties we have been inundated with enquiries from local people keen to buy off-plan.
