STAFF and students at Corsham School are delighted after the school achieved almost a 100 per cent pass rate for its A-levels.
A statement from Corsham School said: “It has been another highly successful year for A-level students at the Corsham School.
“Nearly a 100 per cent pass rate at A-level this year with 28 per cent of entries coming in at grade A* or A and 56 per cent at grade B and above.
“All students in French got A*, A or B, and 80 per cent of students in Maths did also, 46 of the 62 students taking the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) achieved A*, A or B.”
Notable results included Jay Carder with A*, A*, A, B, Jon Holden with A*, A* A*, A, Dan Simonsen with four A*, Syrie Gregory-Wood with three A* and an A and Sophie Wood with three A* and a B.
Ben Hayday, 18, achieved an A* in history, A in sociology and B in French and will study politics at Warwick University.
He said: “I was really worried about it but I checked on UCAS at 7.40am and ran downstairs to tell my parents I had got in.”
Oscar Wilson achieved an A* in chemistry, A in biology and A in Maths and will study natural sciences and biology at Cambridge University.
The 18-year-old said: “The grades were lower than the grades Cambridge wanted but I have got in.
“I looked to see if I had got it at 8am on the dot but I’m quite tired, I didn’t sleep very much last night.”
